There's quite a lot involved in oder to get a mortgage. You wouldn't be visiting our site if it were possible to fill out a simple loan app and get an excellent loan check cut in one day. But First Charleston Mortgage does the heavy lifting so you can concentrate on your life rather than the mortgage loan.
Getting a home loan involves four major milestones.
Step one: Decide how much you can afford
A couple of factors determine this amount. How much of a monthly payment can you afford? And given your unique credit and employment history, income and debt, and goals, how much will a lender loan you? You can get a good idea of your preferred payment abount using the calculators on our website. We'll also help you through different scenarios by asking a few simple questions. Because lender guidelines are fairly standard, we can give you a good idea of how much you can borrow after a short conversation.
Step two: complete a pre-qualification
This step is where First Charleston Mortgage will start to save you money. You will supply details about your employment, assets, and your residence history. You'll give us information on your employment, asset, and residence history. We pull your credit score and report. We'll review all this info then will provide a pre-qualification letter. Your real estate agent will use the pre-qual (as they may call it) in order to make the best offer on the home you choose. The pre-qual letter gives you buying clout! While you're shopping for your new home with your real estate agent, we find the best program for you.
Once you've made an offer and the sellers have accepted, it's time to complete the loan application. Applying for your loan could not be much easier; you can apply any time right here on our site. After the seller has accepted your offer and you have applied for your loan, we'll order a professional appraisal on the home.
Step four: your loan is funded
The real estate agents will find an escrow/title company to handle the "funding" and closing. We'll work with this company to ensure all the papers your lender needs are avaiailable, and you will probably}likely sign everything at this company's officeWe coordinate with this company on your date to close. Since you won't need to coordinate this process, you get to think about moving, if you're going to repaint, new carpet, and all the details of getting your new house.
You've answered some few questions, provided lots of information, applied online, and Before you know it, you're moving! First Charleston Mortgage is a mortgage specialist; you're not — so take care of the details. Doesn't that make sense?
